KPM Music creates and provides library music. It's origins go back to 1830 when two musical instrument makers, Robert Keith and William Prowse to form Keith, Prowse & Co. In 1955, Keith Prowse Music Publishing was sold to Associated-Rediffusion who then bought the Peter Maurice publishing company in 1959 and merged the two into KPM (Keith-Prowse-Maurice). In 1969, EMI bought KPM.
KPM pieces became the theme tunes for Mastermind, All Creatures Great and Small, The Avengers, Animal Magic, This Is Your Life, Dave Allen at Large, Superstars, Grandstand, Rugby Special, and ITV News at Ten.
Among the artists who have composed and or contributed music to the label are Brian Bennett, John Cameron, Herbie Flowers, Alan Hawkshaw, Laurie Johnson, Keith Mansfield, Alan Parker, and Johnny Pearson.
